Design Team Spotlight tutorial - Layered mixed media canvas
Hello everyone, Priya here with a tutorial on how to make a layered mixed media canvas. There will be a list of products used at the bottom of this post.
To begin, I gave a stencil background on both the rectangle and heart shaped canvas, using a Mudra's Diamond deco and TCW'S Tiny circle stencil, I applied both Graphite paste and modelling paste.#
Next, I applied Liquitex glass bead gel randomly on both canvases, then gave a coat of black gesso.
Here I have layered the heart canvas over the rectangle one , I also adhered some cheese cloth and burlap.
Here I have adhered some Papericious Linear flourish chippies.
I adhered some old paint brushes, bottle caps, metal flowers and other embellishments to the base using soft gloss gel.
Mixed Finnabair art stones and mini art stones have been randomly applied with soft gloss gel also.
When dry, I coloured the entire work with Olive green rust paste.I then dabbed Blue and Mint green Patina paste, along with Dusty rust paste here and there to enhance the look that I wanted.
I then rubbed Lucky emerald antique brilliance wax and Inka gold old silver over the stencilled areas and metal embellishments.
Here I have coloured the Melange art pebbles with Prima gold amber paint and blue patina paste and adhered to the canvas.
Finally I added my sentiment to complete my project.
